Pachira aquatica, commonly known as the Money Tree, can grow up to 18 m tall in the wild. It has shiny, hand-shaped (palmate) green leaves with 5–9 leaflets and smooth green to brown bark. The plant stores water in its thickened root base, helping it survive dry periods. Outdoors, it grows with a wide, attractive crown, and both its leaves and flowers are edible.
